We offer the best rates available. Loved the food at the House of Blues, but was disappointed in the atmosphere. We thought there would be some entertainment or at least Blue's music playing. But even the room we were seated in just looked like any other restaurant-nothing special. Thought the shops were nice.
DD had a make-over at the Libby Lou. Which she did look pretty, but the woman who did her hair had accidentally jabbed her with a bobbypin-which truly hurt and took away the fun of getting the make-over.
So parents beware on that one. She wanted her hair undone as soon as we got back to the hotel- over 30 bobbypins for one little bun!!!!! We wanted to try the Catal restaurant, but the lady at the front door said there would be a 45 min wait and then walked off-no taking our name on a list or anything.
We just considered that rude and it turned us off from eating there. So there's the good and the not so good. Experience vancouver, washington 1 contribution. My daughter and her family live out of State, visited Disneyland in May Prior to their arrival, I slipped and fell with injury to my knee - a bit of pain when I walked great distances. We started our day by visiting Disneyland with dinner plans for Downtown Disney. My daughter pointed out the fact that there is nothing in their policy that states their practice of taking over-the-counter pain relief medication. Dinner was not enjoyable as we felt very violated and the two eleven year old children did not understand why our items were confiscated.
While my son-in-law took the girls to play games, my daughter and I returned to the security area, spoke with two supervisors who told us that Downtown Disney is a privately held entity and can confiscate anything they like. We asked to speak with a Manager and was told that he was busy. We waited and watched as two male security officers removed items from the bins and placed those items in their pockets. A third security officer - a female - joined the two male officers and stated quite loudly that it was her turn to "shop the bins" first.
We observed the offices "shopping the bins" for several minutes. The manager joined us. My daughter retrieved Downtown Disney visitors policies on her cell phone and stated that nothing in their policy indicates that their officers will confiscate over-the-counter pain medication. Once again, the Manager stated that Downtown Disney is privately held and they can take anything they want; however, he listened to my daughter explain the entire event; and he told us that he would return our belongings.
He went to the area where the bins containing confiscated items were placed, returned and told us that our items were no longer in the bins. At that time, we told him what we actually saw and heard: three security officers removing items from the bins, placing those items in their pockets and openly discussing whose turn it was to "shop the bins" first. The manager assured us that we did not see what we really did see, wished us a goodnight and walked away.
I sent an email to Downtown Disney online Customer Service. The response received offered something that might have resembled an apology for my disappointment. In the original Review on Trip Advisor, I included the email exchange and received a message from Trip Advisor stating that one cannot include other material; therefore, I cannot share the email exchange on this site. However, it is important for visitors to know that this is definitely something one needs to be aware of when visiting Downtown Disney.
If I could give a minus rating, i would. Swaggger Santiago, Chile contributions. First, my family stayed at the Disneyland Hotel for 3 nights, as such, each night we would go to Downtown Disney for dinner. Very happy about the selection that was offered as there were many more types of food. There are also tons of shops to browse through, we enjoyed the LARGE Disney store as there was something for everyone in there and of course, don't forget to stop by the candy store for one of the famous candy apples!!!
